Do you feel a constant notion of gloom if your life? Well you change that – not tomorrow, or next week, let’s start with today.

Do not let anger and frustration get the better of you

There are plenty of things that are going to annoy you. Some things which are harder to let go of than others. But you are the only one that can control how much you let them bother you. Take a deep breath and remember that there’s more to life, and spending your time worked up on a situation is pointless when your frustration has already proved that it gets you nowhere.

Realise that things don’t always go as planned

Don’t get your hopes up too high. Reality often challenges our expectations. But we can always move forward by thinking of another plan or approach. Don’t give up too easily because you can make it. Other opportunities are on the horizon.

Find inspiration from the happiness of people around you

You can often find happiness in the smallest things. Look at how that little elderly man or woman smiled at you at the bus stop the other day. Or look at how someone moved up on the bus so you had a seat. Look around, there’s always something.

Stop stressing about how you look and enjoy your day/night

You don’t like your hair, your make-up, your outfit… but guess what? No one likes a person who moans. So for tonight, be care-free, live in the moment and have fun. Even if you’re more of a stay-at-home kind of person, enjoy the time you have to yourself. Be cosy in your pyjamas or lounge wear.

Find a new hobby and be more active

Read, exercise, draw, paint, or join a new club… whatever your idea of fun is, try it. There could be something you’ve always wanted to do. Well today is the day to move forward with the plan of attending that event or giving that new activity a go. No one says you have to be the best at it.

If there’s something you can change then do it

Is something bugging you? Do you have a plan of action? Go for it! The worst that can happen is that it doesn’t work. But you don’t know for sure until you’ve tried, right? Better to know than forever wonder, “What if?”

Have more confidence and believe

It will help you move towards another step in your future. A little more faith can take you further than you think. It can also inspire those people around you who might need a little boost of motivation in their lives.

Dance or sing to that song as if no one around you is looking

Because you can and it’s fun. We do not need to be serious all of the time. If you are out with your friends – laugh together and focus on spending time together instead of the worry on your mind.

Take responsibility for your actions

If you have done something wrong then accept it and work on how you could do it better next time, or in some cases how you would not put yourself into a certain situation again. We are only human and we all make mistakes.

Don’t rely on material possessions

The same goes for relying on the outside on a person. Inner beauty is worth so much more. A false personality and new accessories and possessions are only going to build a temporary kind of happiness.

Now it’s time to put these into action. We all have a smile, it’s time that we show it more!
